Somme

Somme is a French département, #80 for postal and other administrative purposes, named after the Somme River[?]. Located in the north of France. It is part of the region of France Picardie.

Préfecture (capital city): Amiens.

Sous-préfectures: Abbeville, Montdidier[?], Péronne[?].

The Somme was the site of many great battles of World War I with a number of monuments to soldiers from various countries.
