Soltau-Fallingbostel

Soltau-Fallingbostel is a Kreis (district) in the centre of Lower Saxony, Germany. Area 1873 km², population 139,200 (2002). The district's capital is Fallingbostel[?].

The district includes the western half of the Lueneburg Heath[?] (Lüneburger Heide). Since this landscape is so characteristic for the district, it calls itself "the Heath District". It is named for the two towns of Soltau and Fallingbostel. The latter is the capital, although it has only 11,800 inhabitants and is only the fifth largest place in the district.

Towns in the district: Soltau[?], Fallingbostel[?], Walsrode[?], Munster, Lower Saxony[?], Schneverdingen[?].

(Do not confuse Munster with Münster in North Rhine-Westphalia.)
