A French based radical left group of the post second world war period. It existed from 1949 until 1965. The animating peronality was Cornelius Castoriardis. The group originated in the Trotskyist 4th International. It was critical of Trotskysim and became more and more critical of Marxism over time. Within it there developed a rejection of the idea of a revolutionary party, and an emphasis on the importance of workers councils. The group focused on the bureacratisation of the modern world.
