Snellville is a city located in Gwinnett County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 15,351.

Geography Snellville is located at 33°51'30" North, 84°0'23" West (33.858439, -84.006324)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 25.1 km² (9.7 mi²). 25.0 km² (9.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.41% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 15,351 people, 5,256 households, and 4,315 families residing in the city. The population density is 613.6/km² (1,589.1/mi²). There are 5,391 housing units at an average density of 215.5/km² (558.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 89.64% White, 5.39% African American, 0.25% Native American, 2.03% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 1.58% from other races, and 1.09% from two or more races. 4.09% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 5,256 households out of which 38.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.3% are married couples living together, 9.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 17.9% are non-families. 15.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.87 and the average family size is 3.18.

In the city the population is spread out with 26.6% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 26.5% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 91.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.2 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $67,715, and the median income for a family is $74,077. Males have a median income of $50,861 versus $31,972 for females. The per capita income for the city is $25,992. 3.0% of the population and 2.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 3.3% are under the age of 18 and 5.0% are 65 or older.
