Silvia Sommerlath

Silvia Sommerlath (born December 23, 1943), married King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden on June 19, 1976 and became Queen of Sweden. She was born in Heidelberg, Germany, daughter of Walther Sommerlath and his wife Alice Soares de Toledo, and was raised in Brazil. Her namesday on August 8 and her birthday on December 23 are official flag days in Sweden.

Her marriage with the King has produced three children, including the heir apparent Victoria of Sweden.
