Shorthand

A writing format commonly used by court stenographers.

Many forms of shorthand exist. This is was more popular in the past, when anything needing transcribing had to be written in real-time. This was a valuable skills to secretaries. Short hand is basically a way of writing that switches common words/phrases/sentences to something the writter can write faster, to allow people to write as fast as people speak. Symbols were commonly used in place of words, phrases and sentences.
