Shoot 'em up

A shoot 'em up video game is one where the screen continuously scrolls, either verically or horizontally, and the player must shoot at enemy and collect powerups. Typically, the player is represented by an airplane or spaceship, but superheros or fantasy characters can also star in a shoot 'em up.
