Selfridge is a city located in Sioux County, North Dakota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 223.

Geography Selfridge is located at 46°2'31" North, 100°55'29" West (46.042028, -100.924673)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.7 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.7 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 223 people, 71 households, and 54 families residing in the city. The population density is 318.9/km² (830.4/mi²). There are 85 housing units at an average density of 121.6/km² (316.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 39.91% White, 0.00% African American, 59.19% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.45% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.45% from two or more races. 2.24% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 71 households out of which 46.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 36.6% are married couples living together, 28.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.9% are non-families. 19.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 2.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.14 and the average family size is 3.48.

In the city the population is spread out with 40.8% under the age of 18, 9.4% from 18 to 24, 23.8% from 25 to 44, 20.2% from 45 to 64, and 5.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 24 years. For every 100 females there are 89.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 83.3 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $24,375, and the median income for a family is $23,594. Males have a median income of $21,875 versus $18,750 for females. The per capita income for the city is $8,824. 29.4% of the population and 21.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 38.6% are under the age of 18 and 31.6% are 65 or older.
