Secotioid

Secotioid mushrooms lack the geotropic[?] orientation of the hymenophore, and basidiospores are not actively shot off, thus they are statismospores. Perhaps an intermediate stage between hymenomycetes and gasteromycetes where gasteromycetation has occurred. A bottle-neck effect[?] may have been involved.
