Scattered disk object

A scattered disk object (SDO) is a trans-Neptunian object of the Kuiper belt with a very eccentric orbit. An SDO's distance to the Sun varies enormously and can reach billions of kilometres. Most of the time they are found in the outer areas of the Kuiper Belt.
