Sasser is a town located in Terrell County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 393.

Geography Sasser is located at 31°43'12" North, 84°20'52" West (31.720119, -84.347676)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 2.0 km² (0.8 mi²). 2.0 km² (0.8 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 393 people, 152 households, and 112 families residing in the town. The population density is 194.5/km² (500.9/mi²). There are 169 housing units at an average density of 83.7/km² (215.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 51.65% White, 45.80% African American, 0.76% Native American, 0.25% Asian, 0.51% Pacific Islander, 0.76% from other races, and 0.25% from two or more races. 1.27% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 152 households out of which 25.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.0% are married couples living together, 21.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.7% are non-families. 23.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.59 and the average family size is 3.06.

In the town the population is spread out with 23.4% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 19.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 78.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 78.1 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $28,750, and the median income for a family is $34,773. Males have a median income of $21,607 versus $17,422 for females. The per capita income for the town is $14,658. 17.0% of the population and 10.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 23.0% are under the age of 18 and 21.3% are 65 or older.
