Salmon Creek is a town located in Clark County, Washington. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 16,767.

Geography Salmon Creek is located at 45°42'18" North, 122°39'41" West (45.704938, -122.661300)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 16.2 km² (6.3 mi²). 16.2 km² (6.3 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 16,767 people, 6,439 households, and 4,642 families residing in the town. The population density is 1,032.5/km² (2,673.6/mi²). There are 6,756 housing units at an average density of 416.0/km² (1,077.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 91.32% White, 1.26% African American, 0.54% Native American, 2.49% Asian, 0.14% Pacific Islander, 1.34% from other races, and 2.92% from two or more races. 4.81% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 6,439 households out of which 37.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.9% are married couples living together, 10.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.9% are non-families. 22.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.60 and the average family size is 3.04.

In the town the population is spread out with 28.1% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 28.4% from 25 to 44, 26.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 37 years. For every 100 females there are 95.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 92.2 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $53,917, and the median income for a family is $62,989. Males have a median income of $48,766 versus $31,186 for females. The per capita income for the town is $23,673. 8.4% of the population and 6.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 11.8% are under the age of 18 and 3.5% are 65 or older.
