SAS is a TLA (three-letter abbreviation) with at least four interpretations:

  1. Scandinavian Airlines System: Scandinavian airline, with the Danish, Norweigan and Swedish governments as the largest shareholders.
  2. Special Air Service: British special forces group, originally a paratroop unit, but now one of the world's best known counter terrorist units.
  3. Serial Attached SCSI[?]: A protocol and physical interface for transporting SCSI over serial links which is compatible with the SATA physical interconnect.
  4. SAS Institute, software company.
