Rio Verde is a town located in Maricopa County, Arizona. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,419.

Geography Rio Verde is located at 33°43'20" North, 111°40'36" West (33.722236, -111.676673)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 14.0 km² (5.4 mi²). 14.0 km² (5.4 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,419 people, 761 households, and 634 families residing in the town. The population density is 101.1/km² (261.9/mi²). There are 1,168 housing units at an average density of 83.2/km² (215.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.65% White, 0.00% African American, 0.07% Native American, 0.14% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.07% from other races, and 0.07% from two or more races. 0.28% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 761 households out of which 0.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 82.8% are married couples living together, 0.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 16.6% are non-families. 15.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.86 and the average family size is 2.02.

In the town the population is spread out with 0.1% under the age of 18, 0.1% from 18 to 24, 1.3% from 25 to 44, 36.1% from 45 to 64, and 62.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 69 years. For every 100 females there are 91.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.9 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $86,248, and the median income for a family is $96,909. Males have a median income of $93,859 versus $60,357 for females. The per capita income for the town is $58,783. 1.7% of the population and 0.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 0.0% are under the age of 18 and 2.1% are 65 or older.
