Ride the Lightning

Redirected from Ride The Lightning

Ride the Lightning is Metallica's second album, released November 16, 1984 by Elektra Records

The band received their first accusations of "selling out" with this album, because of the slower, quieter parts in the song "Fade To Black".

The Megadeth song "Hangar 18", from Rust In Peace, features a riff from "The Call of Ktulu".

Tracks listing

  • "Fight Fire With Fire" (Hetfield/Ulrich/Burton)

Singles "Fade To Black" was released as a promo in 1984.

"For Whom The Bell Tolls" was released as a promo single, with two versions of the song, and edited version on side A, and the album version on side B.

The "Creeping Death" flipside was the original "Garage Days Revisited", featuring "Am I Evil?" (Diamond Head) and "Blitzkrieg" (Blitzkrieg[?])
