Richard Ford was born in Jackson,Mississipi in 1944. He is the author of A Piece Of My Heart, The Ultimate Good Luck, The Sportswriter, Wildlife, and a volume of short stories, Rock Springs.

He editied The Granta Book Of The American Short Story.
