Restrepia

Restrepia is a genus of plants in the Orchid family closely related to Pleurothallis and concists of nearly 50 species primarily in the Andes with some into Central America. Named in honor of Don Jose Restrepo, they tend to be more showy than most other Pleurothallids. They have fused lateral sepals which may be white, yellow, rose, purple, orange or tan with red, brown or purple overlay frequently with contrasting spots or stripes. They are generally of tufted habit with leathery leaves and white sheathed stems.

The representative species is R. antennifera. Below are a few examples of the genus.
