Resortes, who began his career as a member of a circus, in 1946 debuted at the movies.He participated in more than 50 Mexican movies throught his career, and he also participated in many television series. Among the movies he made were El Rey de Mexico[?] (The King of Mexico), Al Son del Mambo[?] (To the Mambo's Rhythim) and El Beisbolista Fenomeno[?] (The Phenomenom Baseball Player). But one of his most famous movies was El Nino de la Mochila Azul[?] (The Boy With the Blue Back Pack). That movie also had a sequel, La Nina de la Mochila Azul[?] (The Girl With the Blue Back Pack). Those two movies in particular became two of the largest teen movie hits in Mexican movie history and helped Resortes be acquainted with the younger generations during the 1980s.
On April 3 of 2003, Resortes was hospitalized with an emphysemia, and on April 4, he passed away.
