Republica

The British band Republica first became widely noticed in 1996 after releasing the single Ready To Go.

The members of Republica are:

The Republica sound was described by Saffron as "techno-pop punk rock".

Saffron was born in Nigeria, and hails Portuguese, Chinese and English ancestry.

They produced two albums, Republica (released on the 30th July[?], 1996 in the UK), and Speed Ballads (5th October[?], 1998).

As of 2003, they are not currently recording together, with Saffron now working on a new band called Swarm Swarm[?]. Tim recently got back together with fellow former Flowered Up[?] band member Liam Maher[?], but split up in late 2002. Johnny went off to a band called Cheap Glue[?] - no word on what they're doing.
