Raver

Redirected from Ravers

The term raver characterizes not only one who attends rave parties, but any number of people world-wide, especially those in Generation X and (for lack of a better term) Generation Y, that:
  • Do not judge, condemn, or label other people's style of: clothes, hair, makeup, costume, sexual orientation, musical preference, race, age, gender, class or income.
  • Do not try to convince anyone of the rightness or wrongness associated with most human activities.
  • Subscribe to the notion that if something makes someone happy and more "rave" without hurting someone else, then that something is okay. However, any hurtful or negative behaviors or attitudes against others is very "unrave", and is frowned upon.

An old school raver refers to someone who has been a raver for quite some time; whereas, a baby raver refers to someone who is new to raving or at their first rave. Hardcore ravers are sometims called pure ravers or true ravers. Something can be rave or have raveness.

Those who exhibit rave-type behavior or qualities in the non-rave world are referred to as future ravers and are personally invited to attend a rave. Many hardcore ravers and pure ravers are astute at identifying future ravers.

The opposite of a raver is a hater.

The level of tolerance from other ravers is said to be refreshing in a world filled with judgment. Thus, a rave party provides a few hours of escape and relaxation along with a sense of oneness with similar thinking ravers. Ravers try to be, or at least show that they are happy and fun.

Similar to religious convictions some ravers are hardcore and some are casual. Some of the most hardcore ravers suprisingly do not use any drugs, but will not condemn others if they do. Many hardcore believe that the future evolution of mankind can be seen and found at a rave, at least temporarily, through the electronic digital music, the kindness, tolerance, sharing of stories, love, giving of small gifts and hugs.
