The municipality Rana in the county of Nordland, Norway, and has 25,350 inhabitants as of January 1, 2002.

The Arctic circle is located a few tens of kilometers further north, across the Svartisen[?] glacier.

The city of Mo i Rana contains the Norwegian National Library[?], as well as sights such as the Havmannen and Moholmen.
