1992.  As one of the first full-length fusions of the widely disparate genres, 
Rage Against the Machine is a landmark album, setting the stage for the late-
1990s boom in more pop-oriented fusions like 
Limp Bizkit, 
Korn and 
Linkin Park.
The album peaked at #1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart, and at #45 on the Billboard Top 200 chart.
The song "Wake Up" is featured in the credits of The Matrix.
