There were attempts to establish several competing ragdoll-type cats, among them the Ragamuffin, but these were not accepted as 'breeds' by the Cat Fanciers Association[?] as there was not enough difference between them and the already-recognised Ragdoll.
Because of their good nature, ragdoll cats make extremely good family pets, but care must be taken that they are not mishandled by young children.
