Radio Row

Radio Row was a famous warehouse district in New York City's lower Manhattan. It held several blocks of electronic stores, which spread out both ways from a central axis along Cortlandt Street. The used radios, war surplus electronics, junk and stuff piled so high that it would spill out onto the street. It was a scrounger's paradise.

Radio Row was torn down in the late 1960s to make room for the World Trade Center. Some of the junkier stock was simply carted away along with the debris from the demolished buildings.
