The Presidency of the European Commission has the following responsibilities:
- Organizing and chairing all meetings.
- Working out compromises capable of resolving difficulties.
The Council is presided over for a period of six months by each Member State of the European Union in turn, in accordance with a pre-established rota (unless a new decision is taken by the Council of the European Union)
