Power budget

In telecommunication, power budget is the allocation, within a system, of available electrical power, among the various functions that need to be performed.

Note: An example of a power budget in a communications satellite is the allocation of available power among various functions, such as maintaining satellite orientation, maintaining orbital control, performing signal reception, and performing signal retransmission. Synonym system budget.
