Power-up

In videogames, power-ups are objects in the game which need to be collected to add extra abilities to the game character, or to increase the player's score. The character typically picks up power-ups simply by running over them.

They are often in the shape of coins or fruit, perhaps in homage to the symbols used in fruit machines.
