Port Heiden is a city located in Lake and Peninsula Borough, Alaska. As of the 2000 census, the population of the city is 119.

Geography Port Heiden is located at 56°56'56" North, 158°39'21" West (56.948949, -158.655745)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 133.0 km² (51.4 mi²). 131.3 km² (50.7 mi²) of it is land and 1.7 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.28% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 119 people, 41 households, and 23 families residing in the city. The population density is 0.9/km² (2.3/mi²). There are 56 housing units at an average density of 0.4/km² (1.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 19.33% White, 0.00% African American, 65.55% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.52% from other races, and 12.61% from two or more races. 2.52% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 41 households out of which 39.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.3% are married couples living together, 2.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 41.5% are non-families. 39.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.90 and the average family size is 3.79.

In the city the population is spread out with 39.5% under the age of 18, 5.0% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 5.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 105.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 125.0 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $31,875, and the median income for a family is $70,000. Males have a median income of $53,750 versus $21,667 for females. The per capita income for the city is $20,532. 5.6% of the population and 0.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 0.0% are under the age of 18 and 25.0% are 65 or older.
