Popponesset is a town located in Barnstable County, Massachusetts. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 310.

Geography Popponesset is located at 41°34'24" North, 70°27'51" West (41.573363, -70.464253)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 6.25% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 310 people, 167 households, and 102 families residing in the town. The population density is 399.0/km² (1,046.0/mi²). There are 624 housing units at an average density of 803.1/km² (2,105.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 167 households out of which 7.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.5% are married couples living together, 6.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 38.9% are non-families. 34.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 22.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
