Pole Position

Pole Position is a series of video games that was first released in 1982 by Namco[?], also the creator of Pac-Man. The game was first released in the United States and Japan, and later it was released world-wide. It was available on arcades only at first, but later it came out for the Atari systems.

In the game, the player had to complete a lap in a certain amount of time, in order to qualify for a Formula One race. After qualifying, then the player had to face other cars in a championship race. Players could not crash their cars, either during qualifying or the actual race. Crashing the car meant the game was over.

Recently, Pole Position made a comeback on the Playstation system, alongside Pac-Man and other Namco games, in a cd named Namcomuseum[?].
