Plantation

A Plantation is a deliberately cultivated area, eg. a large farm, growing one species of plant only, eg. Pine plantations produce raw material for paper making.

Tobacco and coffee are also grown on plantations. The plantations in the southern states of the USA were typically manned by slave labour[?].
