Pixo

Pixo is a company that develops infrastructure for wireless systems. It was founded in 1996, and as of 2003 was privately held. Their main product is the Pixo Mobile Download Server[?].

Pixo also produced a version of the operating system used in Apple Computer's iPod. This seems never to have been formally announced, although the iPod's "About iPod" display include a mention of Pixo, and a Connectix[?] biography of their VP of engineering Mike Neil[?] ([1] (http://www.connectix.com/about/bios)) mentions his role as "lead architect on the Pixo OS that is used in ... the Apple iPod".

On June 26, 2003, Sun Microsystems announced its intention to acquire Pixo.
