Pinner reaction

The Pinner reaction is a chemical reaction of a nitrile[?] with an alcohol under acid catalysis. The product formed is a salt of an imidoester, which sometimes is called a Pinner salt.

These salts can react with an excess of alcohol to form the orthoester[?].
