Pinewood Estates is a town located in Hardin County, Texas. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,633.

Geography Pinewood Estates is located at 30°9'16" North, 94°19'14" West (30.154468, -94.320469)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 34.2 km² (13.2 mi²). 34.2 km² (13.2 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,633 people, 528 households, and 482 families residing in the town. The population density is 47.7/km² (123.5/mi²). There are 539 housing units at an average density of 15.7/km² (40.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.43% White, 0.37% African American, 0.43% Native American, 0.37% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.55% from other races, and 0.86% from two or more races. 3.25% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 528 households out of which 46.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 84.1% are married couples living together, 5.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 8.7% are non-families. 8.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.09 and the average family size is 3.27.

In the town the population is spread out with 28.4% under the age of 18, 8.6% from 18 to 24, 24.7% from 25 to 44, 30.4% from 45 to 64, and 8.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 103.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.3 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $72,917, and the median income for a family is $78,497. Males have a median income of $61,429 versus $31,985 for females. The per capita income for the town is $28,350. 0.0% of the population and 0.0% of families are below the poverty line.
