Pictorialism

A pictorialism is a photographic movement of the early 20th century who subscribed to the idea that art photography needs to emulate painting and etching of the time. Photographs were often heavily manipulated in post darkoom processes such and often used exotic printing processes. Most of these pictures are black and white or sepia[?].
