Pick operating system

Redirected from Pick Operating System

Pick is an operating system based around a rather unique database system (called "multivalued"). The system was originally programmed in PICK BASIC, and later a programming language called English. It was originally a standalone operating system for minicomputers, but later became a database system/programming language/emulation environment running under Unix or Windows NT.

Pick was supplied on hardware sold by companies such as by McDonnell-Douglas Information Systems and on the "Reality" range from Microdata (AKA C.M.C.) amongst others.

Pick was considered by many who used it to be years ahead of its competitors due to its highly functional database.
