Peter Phillips

There have been several notable individuals with the name Peter Phillips


Peter Phillips is the Director of Project Censored. He is a fifth generation Californian, who grew up on a family farm near Lodi. His present occupations include being an Associate Professor of Sociology at Sonoma State University, where he teaches classes in Media Censorship[?], Power, Class Stratification and Social Welfare. He writes op-ed pieces for alternative and independent media outlets including Z magazine and Social Policy. He speaks frequently on media censorship and is often a commentator on radio and television talk shows including: Talk of the Nation, Public Interest, Talk America, World Radio Network, Democracy Now!, and the Jim Hightower Show. Other endeavors include 25 years of of community service, and social activism including War on Poverty administration, Head Start[?] direction and refugee assistance consultation. His academic qualifications are:

  • M.A. in Sociology 1991
  • M.A. in Social Sciences 1974
  • B.A. in Social Sciences 1970

Phillips lives in rural Sonoma County, California with his wife Mary Lia-Phillips, their two cats Moon and Gray and four pet chickens: Millie, Lilly, Dilly and Booster.


Peter Mark Andrew Phillips (born 1977) is the elder child and only son of Anne, Princess Royal by her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips. He was the first grandchild born to Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. He was named after his paternal grandfather, businessman Peter Phillips.
