Pete Peterson

As an airforce pilot, Pete Peterson spent over six years as a prisoner of the North Vietnamese. He returned to Hanoi in 1997 as the first U.S. ambassador to Communist Vietnam with the goal of advancing US interests and securing an accounting of those still listed as missing-in-action from the war.
