Pernambuco

Pernambuco is one of the states of Brazil, located in the northeastern part of the country, on the Atlantic coast. Pernambuco was the home for the most important rebellions and insurrections in Brazilian history, especially in the 19th century. It was first colonized by Portuguese settlers, then occupied by the Dutch[?], and militarly regained by Portugal in 1647. The Dutch legacy is still recognizable in Pernambuco's people, accent, and architecture.
