Perception

Perception is the mental process[?] of selecting, organizing and interpreting information gained through the senses. It is the subject of study in cognitive science.

Perception defines reality. As we move about in the world, we create a model of how the world works. By learning new information, our perception of the world changes and in a sense also our reality.

Perception can also be tricked: an ambiguous image[?] has multiple interpretations on the perception level. The ambiguity confuses the brain.
