Penalty area
Penalty area is a concept that appears in many sports.
In football (soccer), the penalty area or the 18 yards box, has limits set twelve yards to each side of the goal, and 18 yards in front of it. An infraction committed within it is penalised by a penalty kick, in which a players kicks a stationary ball put in front of the goal, which only the goalkeeper may try to stop.
