Pau Casals i Defilló (December 29, 1876 - October 22, 1973), frequently known professionally as Pablo Casals, was a Catalan musician and virtuoso cello player. He was born in El Vendrell[?], Catalonia, Spain and died in exile in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
