Outremont, Quebec

Outremont is a former city on the northern side of Mount Royal, north of downtown Montreal, on the Island of Montreal in southwestern Quebec, Canada. Pop. 22,571 (Statistics Canada, 1996). It is twinned with Oakwood, Ohio and Le Vesinet[?], France

On January 1, 2002 it became a borough of the City of Montreal. Upper Outremont is the traditional home of Montreal's wealthy Francophone community.
