Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime is a robot character from the animated television series Transformers. He is the leader of the Autobots[?]. His friends are Jazz, Ironhide, and Bumblebee. His enemy is Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons. Optimus Prime protects the all sentient life from the evil forces of the Decepticons. Prime was killed due to injuries sustained in a battle with Megatron. He passed on his leadership duties to Ultra Magnus. Magnus was unfit to lead, as the matrix of leadership was taken from him by Galvatron. Hot Rod later recovered the matrix, and used its power to destroy Unicron, while at the same time becoming Rodimus Prime.

Optimus Prime is also the name of a U.S. Army Ohio National Guard Fire Fighter. He had his name legally changed to Optimus Prime in March of 2003, on his 30th birthday. The name appears on his driver license, military ID, and uniform. As of April 15, 2003, Mr. Prime's unit, the 5694TH Tactical Crash Rescue Unit, is still deployed on Operation Enduring Freedom.
