Operation Bodyguard

During World War 2, Operation Bodyguard (Allies 1943) was the overall Allied deception plan in Europe for 1944. The major objective of this plan was to conceal the intentions of the Allies to invade northern and southern France (Operation Overlord and Operation Dragoon).

Bodyguard followed Operation Jael.

Bodyguard included Operation Fortitude (deception plans in support of Overlord), which in turn had two major parts; Operation Skye (conducted by the British) and Operation Quicksilver (conducted mostly by the Americans).

Other deception plans in support of the invasion of Normandy included Operations Ferdinand, Ironside[?], Mincemeat[?], Overthrow[?], Royal Flush[?], and Zeppelin[?].
