Ooststellingwerf (population: 26,725) is a municipality in the northern Netherlands, in the province of Friesland. The municipality covers an area of 226.08 km² (of which 1.32 km² water). The municipality of Ooststellingwerf consists the following towns, villages and townships: Appelscha[?], Donkerbroek[?], Elsloo[?], Fochteloo[?], Haule[?], Haulerwijk[?], Langedijke[?], Makkinga[?], Nijeberkoop[?], Oldeberkoop[?], Oosterwolde[?], Ravenswoud[?], Waskemeer[?].
