Onondaga Reservation is an Indian reservation located in Onondaga County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the Indian reservation had a total population of 1,473.

Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the Indian reservation has a total area of 24.1 km² (9.3 mi²). 24.0 km² (9.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.54% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,473 people, 304 households, and 292 families residing in the Indian reservation. The population density is 61.5/km² (159.2/mi²). There are 311 housing units at an average density of 13.0/km² (33.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the Indian reservation is 42.84% White, 1.70% African American, 51.80% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.20% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 3.46% from two or more races. 0.34% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 304 households out of which 85.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.9% are married couples living together, 15.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 3.9% are non-families. 1.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 0.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 4.85 and the average family size is 4.67.

In the Indian reservation the population is spread out with 50.2% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 28.0% from 25 to 44, 11.7% from 45 to 64, and 3.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 18 years. For every 100 females there are 108.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 118.5 males.

The median income for a household in the Indian reservation is $65,655, and the median income for a family is $57,250. Males have a median income of $44,688 versus $28,750 for females. The per capita income for the Indian reservation is $15,425. 7.6% of the population and 8.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 8.6% are under the age of 18 and 4.4% are 65 or older.
