Olive Schreiner

Olive Schreiner (1855 - 1920) was a South African author.

Olive Emilie Albertina Schreiner was born in Wittebergen[?], South Africa on March 24, 1855. She was South Africa's first famous author, recognised for her semiautobiographical work, The Story of an African Farm[?] (1883).

She was a militant feminist and outspoken opponent of the orthodox church. Another work of note was Woman and Labour[?] (1911).

Schreiner died in Cape Town on December 11, 1920.
