Old Harbor is a city located in Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska. As of the 2000 census, the population of the city is 237.

Geography Old Harbor is located at 57°11'50" North, 153°18'28" West (57.197285, -153.307806)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 70.4 km² (27.2 mi²). 54.4 km² (21.0 mi²) of it is land and 16.0 km² (6.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 22.76% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 237 people, 79 households, and 51 families residing in the city. The population density is 4.4/km² (11.3/mi²). There are 111 housing units at an average density of 2.0/km² (5.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 13.08% White, 0.00% African American, 73.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 13.92% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 79 households out of which 44.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 32.9% are married couples living together, 13.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.2% are non-families. 26.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.00 and the average family size is 3.60.

In the city the population is spread out with 39.7% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 29.5% from 25 to 44, 19.0% from 45 to 64, and 4.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 27 years. For every 100 females there are 127.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 142.4 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $32,500, and the median income for a family is $26,000. Males have a median income of $33,750 versus $23,750 for females. The per capita income for the city is $14,265. 29.5% of the population and 30.8% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 32.5% are under the age of 18 and 0.0% are 65 or older.
