Olaus Rudbeckius, junior

Olaus Rudbeckius, junior or Olof Rudbeck (d.y.) (1660-1740), Swedish explorer and scientist, son of Rudbeck Sr. Rudbeck Jr. was a scientist of contemporary importance but apart from some journeys in the North of Sweden he left few marks in history.

Like his father, he was active at Uppsala University. Among the positions where he succeeded his father was the prefecture of the Botanic gardens of the university, a position in which he in turn would be succeeded after his death by a scientist of greater renown, Carolus Linnaeus.
